I feel like I’ve mentioned this little bit of fun before on here, but there’s a high probability that I’m incorrect about that…
Two holiday seasons ago, on one of my random exploratory missions to find fun picture spots, I was driving along when I was so surprised that I stopped and turned the car around, thinking “Did I really just a T-rex?”
Not only did I see a T-rex, he was holding a Christmas stocking. As if he’d stolen it from someone’s fireplace. (not that he actually could, since his arms are so tiny.)
Those are pictures from my first stop at this spot, which is at the Virginia Beach Airport & Aviation Museum. Last February, I took my dad to see the dinosaurs and found them changed (and with a few new friends).
(The Pteradactyl was there the first time too. I just didn’t edit any of those shots.)
This weekend I took a friend by, and was pleasantly surprised to see how much it’s changed in the past year.
Local Virginia Beach people, if you haven’t lately driven by the Virginia Beach Airport & Aviation Museum, I would highly recommend it just for the prehistoric fun. It’s way out toward NC on Princess Anne. (I haven’t visited the museum yet myself, but my dad raved about it. So that’s probably worth a visit, too.)
Anyway, they’ve added a bit of signage, more dinosaurs, and a lot of paint and landscaping to the “Jerrassic Park” (as it’s called on its sign).
My only complaint is with the layout of the landscaping: to see the faces of the baby t-rex hatchlings, you have to walk into the mulched area, something that all people with good manners have been trained not to do.
Just thought I’d share this fun little spot. It makes me happy.
Anyone else know of any other local novelties like this?
