Last Friday I kidnapped Brooke for the afternoon and we drove to Richmond.
I haven’t edited a ton of shots, but here’s a glimpse of the gorgeousness in Maymont Park during the Fall:

So I was actually only in San Simeon for about 5 hours, but the rest of the day was driving to and from…
I left rather early to meet Annalise is San Simeon for the afternoon to visit Hearst Castle. I figured I’d want to stop for pictures along the way, especially since I was driving along Highway 1. And I did. Though not as often as I would have done had it not been entirely foggy along the coast.
I did get a couple interesting shots regardless.
After a brief (and COLD!) stop at the elephant seal rookery a few minutes from the turn off to the Castle (where I took the following), I arrived at the Hearst Castle Visitor Center.
After Annie arrived, we went inside and bought our tickets to the basic introductory tour. It was rather amazing. Seriously.

Mystery House Edition
;-) Thursday I drove (exactly an hour) to the Winchester Mystery House in San Jose. I arrived WAY before it opened, so I drove around a little bit and got some breakfast.
Sadly, you couldn’t take pictures inside, so I’ve only got exterior and through-the-window shots to share.
The house is terribly interesting, and I definitely recommend it to anyone who is in the area.
The house was built by Sarah Winchester for 38 years, supposedly as directed by ghosts. Just when you think she’s entirely crazy, you learn about some cutting-edge technology or innovation she had installed in the house.
Crazy!

After I left there, I visited the Egyptian Museum in San Jose.
After an interesting drive back to San Fran, I made a stop at the Palace for a couple night shots.
