My memory of the morning we drove through the Garden of the Gods park in Colorado Springs is kind of a blur now; I remember the gift shop and driving through the park, and I remember thinking that the history of the park was really interesting, as well as all the names of the rock formations, but now I couldn’t tell you any details. Since that is easy to look up, I will be lazy and let you do that on your own if you are interested. Here are some pictures from the drive.
The white rocks were my favorites. (not sure “rocks” is the best term for these, but whatevs. That’s as scientific as my brain will go today.)
Not sure exactly why, but I really like this shot.
I seem to keep mentioning gift shops, but I do think you can tell a lot about the park/historic site you visit by wandering the gift shop. The one we visited here was massive, with a very wide assortment of items. I remember seeing Wonder Woman merchandise, paintings, the normal tourist stuff like postcards…Mom bought a sparkly sand art piece, I think I got a wildflower guide book…All that to reiterate the variety of the merchandise available here. I’m pretty sure we spent almost as much time wandering the shop as it took us to drive through the park.
We only stopped once as we drove through the Garden, so I think I’d like to return and explore a little bit, or at least take more time with some photos. (That’s always harder to do with the entire family there.)
Anyone have some stellar shots of the Garden you wanna share?
